What we Face
CHD ?
Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is a term used to describe one or more structural problems with the heart that are present at birth. These defects can affect the heart’s walls, valves, or blood vessels, making it harder for the heart to pump blood properly.
The extremely high cost of the urgently needed paediatric heart surgery to correct/repair, and save our little kids is beyond the reach of 95% of Families facing this condition.
Nigeria is a nation where over 40% of the population lives in poverty. For families already struggling to survive, the cost of life-saving heart surgery—often exceeding $17,000 (₦7- ₦27 million)—is simply out of reach. This financial burden leaves countless children suffering from constant pain, fatigue, and frequent hospitalizations. They are unable to attend school, grow, or enjoy a normal childhood, and tragically, many do not live to see their fifth birthday.
